- Physical WorldPhysical World introduces the scope of physics, the four fundamental forces of nature and the conservation laws that run through the whole subject.
- Units and MeasurementsUnits and Measurements covers SI units, dimensional analysis, errors in measurement and significant figures — tools you use in every other Physics chapter.
- Motion in a Straight LineMotion in a Straight Line describes motion in one dimension: displacement, velocity and acceleration, the equations of uniformly accelerated motion, graphs and relative velocity.
- Motion in a PlaneMotion in a Plane uses vectors to describe two-dimensional motion, with projectile motion and uniform circular motion as the main applications.
- Laws of MotionLaws of Motion covers Newton’s three laws, momentum and impulse, friction, and the dynamics of circular motion.
- Work, Energy and PowerWork, Energy and Power covers work done by forces, kinetic and potential energy, the work–energy theorem, power and collisions.
- System of Particles and Rotational MotionThis chapter extends mechanics to extended bodies: centre of mass, torque, moment of inertia, angular momentum and rolling motion.
- OscillationsOscillations covers simple harmonic motion, the spring–mass system and the simple pendulum, and energy in oscillating systems.
- Gravitation: Kepler's LawsGravitation covers Newton’s law of gravitation, the variation of g, gravitational potential energy, escape and orbital velocity, satellites and Kepler’s laws.
- Mechanical Properties of SolidsMechanical Properties of Solids covers stress, strain, Hooke’s law and the elastic moduli, along with the energy stored in a stretched body.
- Mechanical Properties of FluidsMechanical Properties of Fluids covers pressure, Pascal’s law, Bernoulli’s principle, viscosity and surface tension.
- Thermal Properties of MatterThermal Properties of Matter covers thermal expansion, calorimetry, change of state, and heat transfer by conduction, convection and radiation.
- ThermodynamicsThermodynamics in Physics covers heat, work and internal energy, the first and second laws, thermodynamic processes and heat engines.
- Kinetic TheoryKinetic Theory explains gas behaviour from molecular motion: pressure, molecular speeds, the law of equipartition and specific heats.
Intermediate second year

- Communication SystemsCommunication Systems covers the elements of a communication system, modulation, propagation of signals and antenna range.
How to prepare EAPCET Physics
Physics has 40 questions spread over 30 chapters — fewer questions per chapter than Maths, so breadth matters: leaving whole chapters out costs more than it saves.
Mechanics dominates the first year, while electricity and magnetism (7 chapters) dominate the second. Both are calculation-heavy and reward a formula sheet you revise every week.
Many Physics questions can be checked by units and dimensions. When two options look close, the dimensionally wrong one is usually the trap.
Short factual chapters such as Physical World, Electromagnetic Waves and Communication Systems take little time and give reliable marks — do not skip them.
Test yourself against real exam conditions with the previous year question papers, and see how the full paper is split on the EAPCET exam pattern page.

Frequently asked questions
- How many chapters are in the EAPCET Physics syllabus?
- 30: 14 from Intermediate first year and 16 from second year.
- How many Physics questions are in EAPCET?
- 40 of the 160 questions in the Engineering paper, each worth one mark.
- Is the EAPCET syllabus the same as the Intermediate syllabus?
