How to prepare EAPCET Chemistry
Chemistry has 40 questions across 24 chapters, and they split into three kinds: physical chemistry (calculations), inorganic chemistry (facts, trends and structures) and organic chemistry (reactions and mechanisms).
Inorganic and organic questions are mostly recall. They are the fastest questions in the paper to answer once learnt, which frees time for Maths.
Physical chemistry — stoichiometry, equilibrium, thermodynamics, solutions, electrochemistry and kinetics — needs practice with numbers, much like Physics.
For organic chemistry, keep one running list of named reactions with an example each; for inorganic, one list of exceptions to the periodic trends.
Test yourself against real exam conditions with the previous year question papers, and see how the full paper is split on the EAPCET exam pattern page.

Frequently asked questions
- How many chapters are in the EAPCET Chemistry syllabus?
- 24: 13 from Intermediate first year and 11 from second year.
- How many Chemistry questions are in EAPCET?
- 40 of the 160 questions in the Engineering paper, each worth one mark.
- Is the EAPCET syllabus the same as the Intermediate syllabus?
- The EAPCET Engineering syllabus is based on the Intermediate first- and second-year syllabus of the Telangana and Andhra Pradesh boards. The conducting authority publishes the exact syllabus with each year’s notification, so confirm any changes there.
